Dr. Jianhui Chen's research interests include brain informatics, web intelligence, knowledge representation, and semantic web. As a key member of cognitive computing lab, he is responsible for collecting and integrating the brain data, and designing the psychological experiments.
Dr. Chen is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Computing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his Ph.D. degree from Beijing University of Technology, China, in 2011. After that, he spent one and a half years as a research associate in China Center for Information Industry Development of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China. Dr. Chen has published almost twenty papers on important journals and conferences such as IEEE Trans. TKDE, IEEE Trans. SMC, IJCNN. He has rich experiences in developing scientific and business databases and information systems. From 2001 to 2002, he worked in Beijing Genomics Institute (Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences) as a Bioinformatics engineer (database architect) for almost two years. He also served as a software architect (part-time) in Beijing Xinguanghua Technology Co., Ltd (a software company which develops auditing software for China's Golden Auditing Project) from 2006 to 2009. Supported by the PhD joint training program of the China Scholarship Council, he visited Maebashi Institute of Technology, Japan, from September in 2009 to August in 2010, doing research projects related to conceptual modeling of brain data.
