Prof. Jane You's research interests include image processing, medical imaging, computer-aided diagnosis, and pattern recognition. As a key member of cognitive computing lab, she is responsible for conducting research on medical image computing and analysis.

Dr. You is currently a professor in the Department of Computing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the chair of the Department Research Committee. She received the BEng degree in electronic engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University and PhD degree in computer science from La Trobe University, Australia, in 1986 and 1992, respectively. She has more than 190 research papers published with more than 1,000 nonself citations. She has been a principal investigator for one ITF project, three GRF projects, and many other joint grants since she joined PolyU in late 1998. She is also an associate editor of Pattern Recognition and other journals.
